Your education is somewhat self-directed on your off service rotations. These reading assignments are hand selected to be sure you are getting what you need on some of those months. The program coordinator has the assigned books. Check them out at the beginning of those months, and be sure to bring them back at the end!
Cardiology

Mattu and Brady. ECGs for the Emergency Physician 2.
Read the whole thing.
Anesthesia

Brown, Sakles, and Mick. The Walls Manual of Emergency Airway Management.
Radiology

Raby, Berman, Morley, and de Lacey. Accident and Emergency Radiology; A Survival Guide.
I wouldn’t spend much time on the skull chapters (3 and 4) or the abdominal x-chapter (19.)
The rest is gold.
Pay special attention in chapter 1 to how they describe fractures, and get very familiar with the way they describe checklists for every imaging modality.

Sherman. Simon’s Emergency Orthopedics.

Critical Care

Read every word of both books. They are short.

There is a newer editition. (I haven’t read it yet)
There is a lot in here.
I would focus on chapters 1, 12, 18, 20-22, and 25.
